WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ATL STORM HITS
Hail, wind, ice, and storm damages are considered an insurance loss on your homeowner's policy. It is the responsibility of the insurance company to pay the entire cost, less your deductible, for replacing the roof or other parts of your house if damages are found.

The claim is also considered a natural disaster and should not count against you personally for future rate increases.
ND Construction & Roofing LLC will guide you through every step of the insurance process:

Step 1: Call ND Construction 770-653-7710 and set-up a free inspection.

Step 2: If we find damage. Just contact your insurance company to file a claim. You may have to provide the date that the damage occurred.

Step 3: Either call us with your adjuster’s information or have your adjuster call us directly so that we can set up an appointment that works best for all parties. It is very important to make sure we are there to represent you during this appointment.

Step 4: ND Construction can discuss the damages with your insurance adjuster to make sure that all affected areas are addressed, and part of the claim.

Step 5: The adjuster will give you documentation with what damages are covered. Share any documentation with ND Construction so that we can verify that the damages have been fairly evaluated and reported accurately.

Step 6: Agree for us to perform the necessary work. Then just choose a date for the work to be completed, and we can discuss Shingle, Siding, Gutter, Color, Style, ECT.

Step 7: Your insurance company will give you an (actual cash value) check. This is the 1st insurance check. (May require endorsement by your Mortgage Company). This will serve as the deposit for us to perform the necessary work to be completed.

Step 8: After the work is completed, and you are completely satisfied. ND Construction will send all the necessary documentation (certificate of completion) to your adjuster for them to release the 2nd insurance check (Withheld deprecation money).

Step 9: This will be the 2nd and final payment for the completed work.

Step 10: Enjoy your beautiful new Roof, or Siding

STORM DAMAGE
Sometimes it takes a trained eye to locate storm damage on your Norcross home, because hailstones smaller than one inch in size leave behind less obvious signs. Hailstones that are one inch or larger inflict more evident damage, and result in a roof in need of quick replacement or roof repair in Chicago. Here are some of the signs our inspectors will look for.

• Missing shingle granules. Asphalt shingles are coated with ceramic granules to protect them from the effects of sun and moisture. If shingle granules are missing due to a hail strike, exposing the black asphalt underneath, the shingle will deteriorate faster.

Bruising. Hailstones may leave behind indentations in a shingle that are difficult to see, but result in soft, weak spots that shorten its service life.

Cracking. When a large hailstone hits a shingle, it may cause a circular crack around the impact area. This sign indicates damage that reaches through the shingle, and demands immediate replacement to prevent water leaks.
Dents. Ridges, vents, flashing, skylight frames and other metal components may display dents after a hailstorm. The size of the dents is a clue to the severity of damage to the roof.

With other roofing materials, including cedar, slate, tile and metal, storm damage can similarly include cracks, and broken and missing shingles.
